Cove Canyon Technical Canyoneering Grand Canyon
Over Memorial Day weekend we took a trip to the far north western side of the Grand Canyon. We drove 60 miles down a dirt road to get to the trailhead of Cove Canyon. It was an eight mile approach following the contour of Burro Canyon. There were several rappels day one, ending at the confluence of Burro and Cove Canyons where we camped. Day two was just couple of rappels before we were at the Colorado River. We inflated our Supai packrafts and did the five mile float to the Lava Falls exit route, where we camped. Day three we hiked the 3,000 ft., 1.5 miles out, starting at 5:30AM.
