Guess which one is the Black Bear?

In the news today they were talking about a two-year-old black bear picked up in the Sun Lakes area and shipped off to the Tonto National Forest. So just thought I’d post a quick overview of Black bears.

The black bear is smaller and more aggressive than the brown bear. If you come across one in the wild you should speak calmly and back away slowly. This is the opposite with a brown bear. With a brown bear you should make yourself as big as possible and make a lot of noise. Bear attacks on humans are very rare so don’t change your plans regarding the Tonto National Forest.

Oh, and in case you didn’t figure it out… The bear on the right is the black bear.
