Details: The Katahdin pack by Equinox gets excellent reviews from the Appalachian Trail hikers and has been used by mountaineers to ascend Mount Everest. It offers innovatives for ultralite backpacking not found in other packs. The Katahdin’s bottom cinch strap is aligned with the hip belt to provide optimized weight distribution to the hips. Three compression straps create a solid tube structure that replaces the need to use stays. These straps work to transfer weight to the hips, while taking weight off the shoulders. This feature is even more impressive when you consider the pack weights only 26 ounces.
